Request a Review
I'm always looking for book reviews, so it seems only fair that I offer the same to others.  If you'd like to submit a book and request a review, go ahead.  I'd just like you to follow a simple format:

Send a request for review before you send me the whole book.  Books without requests will probably be ignored.

In the request, I'd like to know a few things...like publisher (self-published is OK), length, genre, and publication date.  You should also probably type out a synopsis of the book, but you don't have to give away the ending.

In the subject line of your email, you should include your book's title and the words 'review request'.  Let's me know it isn't spam.

And...that's it.  Email address is rachaelbyrd_books (at) yahoo (dot) com

I'll be happy to look at both paperbacks and ebooks, but if I can give you a heads-up...I prefer paperbacks.  If your book is published primarily in ebook form, it would be advisable to get a copy printed (try 'lulu.com') and submit that for review.  If it'd make you feel more comfortable, put a 'Review Copy, Not for Resale' stamp on the edge with the pages or INSIDE the front cover.  No stickers.  I'd like to see the cover.  Subbing an ebook without a paperback doesn't mean that I won't review it, but it does slightly weaken the chances.  It's just a personal preference...I don't much like reading on-screen, and paperbacks are better for car trips.

Genres...I prefer Horror and Dark Fantasy, but will consider books on a case-by-case basis.

I'll put your review up on my website.  You may copy and paste it to wherever you like.

Review copies will not be returned.
