| As the Priestess of Sorrows, Marikalay has access to clerical magics dealing with the dead. As stated in her profile, she has no knowledge of offensive magic, but she also has no defensive, creative, or psyonic spells either. Her spells are lyric - sung aloud - and for the most part passive in nature. |
| This spell, rather than being something called forth at need, was enacted upon Marikalay by her predecessor, and is always active. She knows the workings of this spell herself so that she can replace it if something happens, or enact it upon her own successor. This spell allows Marikalay to easily see spirits in her immediate area, and interact with them. It also allows her to see the ebb and flow of mystical energy around the living. |
| This particular spell allows Marikalay to release a soul that has been trapped or imprisoned unwillingly. With it she can release captured souls or ghosts that are not supposed to be where they are. Most often these souls are released to move on, but with added effort and concentration she can return a captive soul to its waiting body. This spell does her no good within the bounds of her temple, because the soul must be prepared to move on from life before she can even begin. |
| This spell allows Marikalay to leave her body and move as a spirit. On the rare occassions when an exersism is required of her, she will use this spell to deal with the rogue spirit on the same level as that spirit, where she is stronger and far more capable of fighting. Using this spell she can also travel to other places without really being there, and communicate with those who are especially sensitive to ghosts. |
| Marikalay is only able to use this spell while in her astral form. It allows her to disable a loose spirit and send it on to the afterlife, willing and ready or not. It has absolutely no effect on the living, or on souls that are anchored to something. |
| This spell allows Marikalay to recall the souls of the dead from wherever they have moved on to, and/or make them visible to normal sight. In this way she can connect a living person to a dead loved one so that they may communicate with the living again. This spell is not required in the Temple of Mourning, where all spirits are visible, and is mainly used in calling for those who are not already present in the temple. |
| This spell allows Marikalay to take the souls of the dead, or souls that are simply disembodied, and attatch them to...well, anything. If so inclined, Marikalay can use this spell to create undead creatures by attatching a soul to a corpse and charging it with magic. |
