| Slim and fit with slightly feminine features, Shinobiashi is often mistaken for a girl at first glance. He looks no older than sixteen, with waist length, blood red hair and emerald green eyes that have an exotic tilt to them. Despite the fact that he was raised quite a ways from human society, he is always immaculately dressed in Japanese style fighting clothes of white pants and shirt with an embroidered tunic and a sash belt. He may or may not wear shoes depending on his mood. He is eager to learn, and curious about everything. He has a lively sense of humor, a mostly accepting and very practical attitude toward life, and very well polished manners. Despite his appearance and easy handle of the human languages, Shinobiashi had a very different education from most children. He can neither read nor write, and has absolutely no concept of numbers, up to and including his own age. Still very clever, he is well versed in the arts of herbal healing and speaks many languages, including the language commonly used by trees. With his sharper than normal senses, he is also a very good tracker when he puts his attention to it. Having been raised from infanthood by an oak tree (see history for explaination), his sense of justice is rather noticably skewed on the side of whatever plant life is in the area. While he understands the neccessity of cutting down trees and plants for food and shelter, he does not understand such things as cutting down sections of forest for roads, and is likely to dot such stretches with new trees. While his misunderstanding of situations can tend to get him into trouble, his genuine interest in doing things properly often gets him out again, and earns him friends in the offing. When not investigating some new mystery or otherwise getting himself into mischief, Shinobiashi can be found in the nearest tree or obscuring plant growth, playing eerie melodies on a metal flute that he aquired at some point in his earlier days. |
