Silence
On the other side of the window, the wind howled with all its ferocity, hurrying toward something I could only barely imagine.  Miniscule flakes of ice were tossed about like boats on a storm driven sea, flying everywhere at once.  Like tiny faeries they clung to whatever they could, gathering together in a white blanket, soft and deep over everything in sight.
I watch it all from the heavy warmth of my hearth, the solitude of the day buzzing pleasantly in my mind like a little too much alcohol.  I settle into it like a good cuddle while the sparkling faeries of warmth gather in the window, laughing softly as they watch their more adventurous sisters outside.
