Americanized Filipino, born in Philippines, son of sailor in US Navy. Grew up watching Robert Mitchum and John Wayne movies and WWII films (Sands of Iowa Jima…etc). Home town in Cupertino,CA (Silicon Valley) and grew up in ‘farm country’ since the area was mainly orchards, vineyards and farmland ( and people wonder why I’m so rednecked). My high school, Homestead High, was 99% white anglo-saxon so I definitely am redneck.
Went to De Anza College then San Jose State U. and ended up handcuffed to the technology industry in Silicon Valley…always thought I was going to be an Anthropologist or Oceanographer.
Played music in Jazz bands in my twenties, studied photography, backpacking in the sierras, skiing and surfed a lot up and down the California coast and Mexico/Baja, ride motorcycles (street, touring bikes) and still run and bike when I can.
These days I'm trying to keep in shape playing ice hockey, biking and playing tennis (in the adult tennis league (USTA sponsered)).
