| The idea of collective consciousness is a common new age theory but I don't think it is commonly understood to any degree. I will try to explain the way I perceive this web of consciousness to operate as best I can given the limitations of language. The idea of collective consciousness is also relative to Jung's collective unconscious and goes hand in hand with the ideas laid down there. I first became aware of this concept through my personal experiences with empathy/telepathy, between which is a fine and nearly indistinguishable line. I had not read any of Jung's material at that time and I had originally misinterpreted the idea of collective unconscious, or rather I had given to it additional properties which now seem to be a different matter all together. | |||||||||||||||||||
| There are a few different aspects to this idea but the main focus seems to be on the potential for ideas to occur as thoughts. Whereas Jung's theory is mostly rigid or shall we say passive and deals with established 'concrete' archetypes, this theory is active and deals with the potentials of thought. This first attribute is the attempt to describe how certain thoughts appear or are available to appear in the mind of the everyman. As I have described previously, the brain is a resonator. It reads vibrations and interprets them. I have written a line that says, " Thoughts are sattelites pulled into orbit by the gravity of mind." This is basically conveying the idea that all thoughts already exist and it is a matter of resonating to that particular frequency. When the appropriate building blocks are assembled in the mind the blocks become the building. Ideas have an associated frequency, or level of vibration. The more powerful this vibration the easier it is for someone to resonate to it and have this 'thought'. These are the 'archetypes' of the collective conscious, fluid and dynamic as opposed to rigid and universal. | |||||||||||||||||||
| Of course one would have to have a rudimentary understanding of the brain/resonator theory first to truly grasp this new concept. There is also another thread to this tapestry, and that is time. It seems that time is inextricably linked to consciousness. A perception of individuated moments to play out the grand drama of life, but that is another matter. | |||||||||||||||||||
| The second attribute is the more radical side of this theory and is directly related to the first part and perhaps to the collective unconscious. The main idea contained here represents nothing less than facilitating the evolution of our species. It is "Psychological reconditioning through assertment of unified will". It represents a way to combat the social conditioning and learned behaviors that we are plagued with from birth. It is collective consciousness as mass directed will, a unified initiative. The creation of new 'archetypes' that would in turn effect our subconscious paradigm, or that place from which our attitudes are born, where we are "coming from". It is a large group of people resonating to particular ideas to give those ideas energy so that they may become thoughts in the mind of the everyman. | |||||||||||||||||||
| It is ,I suppose, gorrilla-thought warfare at its most extreme. It is important to note that on the surface this may seem like 'black magic'; however, it is most certainly not. This is not in any way an assertment of will OVER another individual. It is merely showing that there is more than one door to walk through. In the end it is always up the the individual to choose his or her path. It is also important to say that the main ideas to be focused on at this stage of development are ideas of oneness and unity. This is most certainly not an idea that is tainted with personal ambitions. It is the conscious and purposeful act of facilitating our inherent unity with each other and with nature ,which is in my personal interpretive opinion, that what 'they' would call god, but that is also another matter. We would only stand to benefit from operating as a race of humans instead of - races - of humans. Surely this is not an idea stemmed from ego-mind desires to gain some sort of material acquisition or position of power. This is most certainly not an overt attempt to create a 'mystery school' or even worse, a new religion, although it could , I suppose, be interpreted as both in some ways. It is merely a group of conscious individuals imbuing certain ideals with energy to attempt to raise the awareness of the entire race. To bring us together as a united species of conscientious aware beings living wholly and peacefully with each other and the world around them. Each person can make a difference. Every individual counts. Each one of us causes a ripple in the collective mind, when we are working in unison that ripple becomes a wave , and the wave laps away at the shore until it erodes that which is trying to contain it. Each idea has a sort of critical mass, when achieved that idea is ripened. To be plucked from the tree of knowledge. We are pioneers of evolution. Exploring the dark recesses of mind. | |||||||||||||||||||
| "Each time a person stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others....they send forth a ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance." - Robert F. Kennedy |
