German Leverlocks
The town of Solingen, Germany has been cranking out extremely high quality lever lock automatic knives for over 100 years.  Here are just a few examples.  Of the many great names, only Hubertus and the Robert Klaas Co. (Kissing Cranes) are still making automatic knives in this fine tradition.  Unfortunately Boker has recently discontinued the 712 and 715 models in this style. The first feature photo is a Herder backspring release knife made in the early 60's.  Though not the traditional German lever style, it is operated by a lever none the less,  and a  very solid and smooth operating knife. The next feature photo has 3  nice leverlocks by Weltersbach,  Bonsa,  and Hugo Koller.  These companies are no longer in business.
