This website is devoted to the main love of my life…  dogs, especially homeless dogs who need help.  I'm one of those people who rescue homeless animals.  That means I bail them out of shelters, volunteer to help at the local shelter, drive them to safety, pay for whatever vetting I can afford, and preach spay/neuter to whoever will listen.  Mixed breeds are my breed of choice, with dachshunds and basset hounds coming in a close second.  I've lost count of the amount of animals I've rescued but its over 500 right now. 

I currently belong to the Humane Society of the United States and PETA.  Back in November 2001, I co-founded Dachshund Adoption and Rescue or DARE.  DARE is non-profit and helps homeless dachshunds and dachshund mixes, rarely turns down a dog.  Please visit the official DARE site at www.daretorescue.com and if you can afford it, make a donation.  No amount is too small.  Or better yet, sign up to be a foster home!  You can buy DARE merchandise at CafePress which also directly gives a donation to DARE.
