The Feloran Chronicles

Volume 23:
The Invasion of Earth
6-20-02 to 8-11-02
While the Feloran Empire presents its ultimatum to the U.C.E., the ruling council on Earth, D'kan, Elron, and a few other Minions consider taking action to stop the coming war.  Belemon, however, makes his alliegance to Felora clear, and demands that the others not interfere.
On Earth, the U.C.E. immediately refuses Empress Everline's demands and convenes to discuss their plan to defend their world.  Only clans Allte and Onide agree to stand with Imagarea, however, while the other clans refusing to commit their forces to anything but the defense of their own lands.
Meanwhile, the Feloran Empire gathers its forces to begin the assault.  Though, Everline chooses to not use her strongest warriors except to counter any suprises Earth might have in store, but rather to use the advanced technology created by Yoshimuri the Second:  machines that could be piloted by any ordinary individual.  Everline didn't wan't to
defeat Earth, but rather prove that they were not prepared for the dangers that would eventually come.
After a final meeting between Yoshimuri the Third and the U.C.E. to verify their decision, the attack begins.  Feloran fighter ships eliminate the few orbital defenses in moments and clear the way for the two most advanced ground units in the Feloran arsenal.  Those two land and advance on the Imagarean military headquarters.  It quickly becomes clear that no military hardware could touch the two, so Earth's own warriors enter the battle.  Phoren, former ambassador to Felora, and the vampire Drakken engage one of the two machines but are only able to slightly damage it.  Then, William Lee, nephew to the Empress' own great-grandfather, enters the battle as well.  After a fierce fight, both war machines are destroyed and their pilots captured.
Yoshimuri returns to the U.C.E. to once again ask for their surrender.  They refuse, of course.  After all, there had only been a single battle - one that
they won.  But, the battle had only been a demonstration of the smallest fraction of the Feloran forces.  An entire army of Felora's war machines appears around the council building.  Yoshimuri gives them one more day to reconsider, leaving the council with the certainty that he could have easily killed or captured them all if he so chose.  In the end, they have no choice but to surrender.
