At the Keep, K'mael has recovered from the recent conflict, but is still deeply feeling the loss of his Book.
"K'mael?" Mileena says when she comes to check on the troubled mage. "I wanted to see how you were doing."
"Well, considering. My arm is-"
"That's not what I meant, and you know it. You've been holed up in here for days."
"What would you have me do?" K'mael asks angrily. "The Book is gone, along with any hope for me to make a difference in this world."
Mileena disagrees. "I seem to recall a determined young mage who faced a Harbinger and his demonic servants all without the help of that Book."
K'mael shrugs. "I did what I had to. And in the end, it didn't matter."
"Of course it mattered! You fight for the sake of everyone in the world. You can't stop now, just because that Book was taken! Let it go. Go out into the world and do what you can."
K'mael is unsure. "I...I don't know if I'm strong enough or smart enough. I just don't know what I can do."
Mileena takes his hand and tells him that she still has faith in him, (shown) but at that moment Dani brings K'mael something to eat and sees the two of them together. Misunderstanding, she runs from the room.
K'mael follows Dani outside to explain things. (shown) He tells her that, though he cares for and respects Mileena, they are only friends. He then asks Dani if she would want to travel with him when he and Torlu leave the Keep once more.
"I...I'd like to get to know you better, Dani," K'mael tells her. "I think I'd really enjoy your company."
Dani happily agrees.
Meanwhile, at the Feloran Capital, a cloaked figure moves through the dark underpassages of the living city. It is Ferah, and she is being chased by what appear to be Feloran soldiers. At length, she is cornered and begins to fight her way out!
The soldiers turn out to be lead by Commander Jerrill. He came to deliver to Ferah an invitation to the palace. She is hesitant at first, but after thinking on it for a moment, she accepts.
