It is important to become aware of these generational sins, iniquities and transgressions, so that we can be set free through Christ. Only through Him can we be free. Christ came to die on the cross for our sins, and that is the greatest gift of all!! He also came to set the captives free:
Luke 4:18 - The Spirit of the Lord (is) upon me, because He hath annointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent Me to heal the broken-hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.
So, Christ came also to help us with our lives here on earth also. Many people believe that Christ is their Savior, but do not realize how much He wants to set the captives free.
