A Tribute to Nigel

Raincrow's Mystic River "Nigel".  Nigel was owned/handled and loved by Marion Johnson.  Bred by Mary Coady and Bonnie Cary, Mystic Collies, and co-owned with Mary Coady.  Nigel crossed the Rainbow Bridge unexpectedly on May 26, 2007, at the age of 2 1/2 years.  Nigel was on his way to being an AKC Championship, having both his majors and a total of 12 points.

Remembering NIGEL - Dec 7, 2004 - May 26, 2007 Raincrow's Mystic River, CCG, RN Bred by Mary Evelyn Coady and Bonnie Cary Sire:  Mystic The Meadows Winterwinds   Dam:  Mystic The Meadows Summer Brook Loved and trained by Marion Johnson, and co-owned with Mary Coady. Nigel was a sweet, slightly goofy boy who helped raise a litter of cardigan puppies.  He and they could not quite decide if he was a long legged cardigan or they were short legged collies.  He would do anything or try anything asked of him.  Nigel did not have a mean or spiteful bone in his body. He lacked only 3 points to finish his AKC Championship, and we were going to obedience class to work on our Rally Advanced title.  He placed 4th in the open smooth dog class at the National this past March, and he finished his Rally Novice title  at the National.  He had strong, beautiful movement and a sweet, quizzical expression.  I had thought Nigel would be my last collie and had made many long range goals for us to achieve. Tragically, he passed over to the Rainbow Bridge on Saturday, May 26.  He seems to have suffered an aneurysm.  I am still in a state of shock and there is a large, empty spot here at Raincrow.
