Music...Raines Style

So what music does the future president enjoy?  Well, here are some of my favorites.  They cover a variety of music types.

OAR-  This is by far my favorite band.  I've seen them play 6 times in 5 different venues, in 3 different cities.  Every time they are entertaining until the end.  Catchy songs, with mixed styles, and fun lyrics mark this bands great music.  Some of my favorite songs include Here's to You, Untitled, Crazy Game of Poker, James, King of the Thing, and Road Outside Columbus.  However, I could name great OAR songs all day.  They are just an amazing band.

Led Zepellin-  They wrote some of the greatest songs of all time.  Brilliant rock and roll with songs that never get old.  Great works such as Stairway to Heaven, Over the Hills and Far Away, Ramble On, Good Time Bad Times, When the Levy breaks, The Battle of Evermore, and Misty Mountain Hop.  How can anyone not love Led Zepellin.

Bob Dylan- The greatest story teller in music history.  He can write songs with absolutly no chorus and still sell albums.  Blood on the Tracks is one of my all time favorite albums with songs such as Tangled up in Blue, Idiot Wind, Simple Twist of Fate, Shelter from the Storm, and my personal favorite Dylan song Lillie, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts.  Other great Dylan songs include Knocking on Heaven's Door, Like a Rollin Stone, and Blowin in the Wind just to name a few.

Ben Folds- If you want fun songs and hilarious lyrics Ben Folds is a perfect musician.  He puts on a great show in concert, and is a world class entertainer.  My favorite Ben Folds songs include:  Rockin the Suburbs, The Luckiest, Fred Jones Part 2, Army, Song for the Dumped, Brick, and The Secret Life of Morgan Davis.  And of course there are plenty more great songs.

Jeff Black-  An unheralded folk music player, I heard of him through my dad, and he can play some music.  Great songs such as The Valley, Same Old River, Noah's Ark, and A Long Way to Go anchor his beautifully written lyrics, and music.

Garth Brooks-  When it comes to country music nobody does it better.  The lyrics are great, and so is the music.  Great songs include The River,  The Dance, Friends in Low Places, That Summer, Standing Outside the Fire, and honestly about every other song he has ever put on a CD.
