John Raffel was born 20th October 1840, died 30th December 1864, married on the 9th February 1863, in the Dutch Reformed Church, Wolvendaal, Colombo (Ceylon) Sri Lanka, Jane Caroline de RUN who was born on the 4th of September 1846. Daughter of William de Run and Emelia Petronella EBERT.
