South America

South America is known for the Amazon - the world's largest jungle, home to parrots, jaguars, sloths, medicines, and other things we need. But the forest is getting burned down and cut by logging companies. If this continues, some of our most needed medicines, like the rosy periwinkle, a kind of flower that can cure leukemia, a type of cancer, can disappear and the people with the disease can die.

• Vampire Bats! Thought to be blood-thirsty creatures!
