Fate

I will have verses in my head,
driving poems from you
Or silence with hidden words
Of love and rest.
All that I did live for
Is gone now
And waves of tender bliss
Land on my hands an chest
With the sound of your kiss...
And I will laugh at the music
Hearing my song in you
Or cascades of silent waters
Clear vision of passion in depth.
All that I fought for
Is gone now
And a breeze of happiness
Brushes my lips and face
With the looks of your caress...
And I will breath all the life,
My heartbeat locked in you,
And my thoughts tied to your feet,
Hoping to follow your fate.
All that I sought for
Is here now.
And an answer to all the above
Crushed on my body is
now wrapping me
With the perfume of your love.

Giovanni is an Italian nuclear engineer. He lives and works in Rome and speaks and writes poems in many languages, among them English, French, Portuguese and, of course, Italian. I met him in one of the Geocities chat rooms a while ago and he told me that sometimes, at night, he can't sleep and when this happens, he writes poems, romantic and passionate, like a good Italian man. He has authorized me to be his "publisher" and as I have not found anyone that would edit his first poem book, I chose to use my web page to give him a chance until he gets rich with the royalties of his first best seller.
