Asean Dove Competition Festival
, 27 February - 3 March, 2006
At Khwan Muang Park, Yala
Dove - lovers from all over Thailand, as well as from other countries in the region; including Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, come to Yala for this event. The highlight is a dove-cooing contest involving more than 1,400 competitors; young prize doves are on sale along with local products and sports contests are held.

DAMNOEN SADUAK FLOATING MARKET & SWEET GRAPE WEEK FAIR, March, 2006
Damnoen Saduak, Ratchaburi
The fair features a beauty contest, a Thai cooking competition, a "sea boxing" competition, boat competitions, Damnoen Saduak floating market touring programs, agricultural exhibitions, and local product sales including fruits & Thai sweets.

INTERNATIONAL KITE FESTIVAL, March 21-22, 2006, Sanam Luang, Bangkok
Kite-flying has been enjoyed by Thai people since ancient times. It became one of the most popular traditional sports during the reign of King Rama IV. Kite-flying has been adopted as a means to promote Thai traditional games and culture. In 1988, the international kite festival was organised at Pattaya Beach, Chon Buri, and many overseas kite groups and enthusiasts joined in. From then on, the festival has been organised every other year. Coinciding with Celebrations on the Auspicious Occasion of His Majesty the King's 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary 5th December 2006 and an Amazing Thailand Year, TAT will once again organize a grand festival to celebrate the occasions. Kite teams from many countries will participate in this popular event.

This fair features Buddhist and Khao Phan Kon processions, preaching on 13 Episodes of the Mahachat sermon, light & sound presentations with performances on Vessandon Chadok, and preparations of noodles, khao tom mat and khao pong to be served to the festival audiences.

THAO SURANARI FAIR
At Thao Suranari Memorial Plaza, Nakhon Ratchasima
This annual fair celebrates the local heroine who rallied townspeople against foreign invaders during the 1800s. Celebrations customarily feature fireworks displays, colourful processions, cultural displays and exhibitions, and beauty contests.
