With effect from 01 January 2000, the one and only Branch School of Sek Men Jen Keb Keat Hwa, Alor Setar, also popularly known as "Sekolah Cawangan", will be NO MORE....!!
Branch School will be merged with what has been known all this while as the Main School or "Sekolah Pusat".
This is the final outcome of a series of events going way back to 1998 when there were rumours of a possible "coming over" by Keat Hwa II....a school under the Keat Hwa banner but presently "squatting" in the Main School while awaiting its own school building promised under the 7th Malaysian Plan. After several "eventful" months and a series of press releases, it was finally
F I N A L... SMJK Keat Hwa will be ONE !
For the administrators of the SMJK Keat Hwa, this will resolve many problems in administration because with the move, everyone will be under one roof and will thus facilitate all aspects of management.
However to the existing Branch School members, it will be a very sad and heartbreaking event....Branch School has proven its mettle throughout its existence that it can produce very excellent results in both the academic and extra-co-curricular fields in spite of its limited, somehow meagre resources!
In Branch School can be found a very close-knit and caring group of teachers and staff, not forgetting a very well-disciplined school of students...."happy" somehow away from the Main School...with its own "culture" and identity...
What is now the "loss" of Branch School can be considered the "gain" of Main School....
We will survive and move forward as the ONE & ONLY Sek Men Jen Keb Keat Hwa...the original SMKH !!
To all in Branch School goes all the best wishes for years to come in your new environment and may you all uphold all that which you have cherished all the years in Branch School!!

P.S. The great exodus has begun... The first lorryload of Branch School contents went over to the Main School on November 9th !
The following events have been planned to mark the passing of a significant chapter in the annals of SMJK Keat Hwa...the grand curtain call of Branch School... :
1. A "Nasi Lemak" getogether for all members of the Staff of Branch School on Tuesday 16th November.
2. A grand dinner at De Garden Seafood Restaurant for past and present Branch School Staff....on Wednesday 17th November.
3. A Steamboat getogether at the Branch School Canteen for all with memories of Branch School on Thursday 18th November.
