True Magick (a Beginner's Guide)
By Amber K

This is absolutely the best all around book for beginners that I have come across! It covers a lot of ground: Touching on many subjects, taking you all the way from what is magick, all the way through creating and performing rituals, and includes practical spells. Ethics are talked about, as well as hazards associated with magick, and she gives guidelines on what to look and lookout for when searching for a teacher.

The next two books are more for the scholar, who is interested in a wide Variety of information about Paganism of the past, which have in SOME cases contributed to modern Paganism. Defiantly not "Light Reading".

Well, this was an interesting book. Well written and easy to read and understand. I would not, however, recommend it for the beginner. In fact, more for the advanced practitioner than for anyone else. It would be a wonderful book to teach out of and recommend to those going for HP or HPS status.

Whispers of the Moon, The Life and Work of Scott Cunningham
By: David Harrington & deTraci Regula

It has never been a secret that Scott Cunningham is one of my favorite authors. At a time when there was still a great deal of secrecy surrounding the old traditions, and tremendous pressure to be involved in structured Covens, Scott broke the barriers in showing that it was ok to be a Solitary. In many ways, Scott had a great impact on the numbers of our brothers and sisters we have seen returning to the old ways in recent years.

Written by two of his closest friends, this is Scott's unfinished autobiography he was working on prior to his return to the Goddess in 1993. He sat this book aside so that he could bring us Living Wicca and Hawaiian Magic before passing to the next life.
