LITHA - June 20-23

Litha, also called Midsummer (Alban, Hefin, Letha and Summer Solstice), celebrates the abundance and beauty of the Earth. This is the longest day of the year, and will fall somewhere between the dates above depending on when the Sun is at its zenith. The longest day of the year and the shortest night. From this day on, the days will grow shorter until Yule. The trees and fields are full and prosperous. The babies of all animals species are learning to frolic on the ground and in the air. This is also when a festival called the Feast of the Faery is held. It is believed that at twilight on this day, the veil between worlds open and the Faery folk pass into our world. If you willingly welcome them on this day, they will bless you with their wisdom and joy. It is the ideal time for divinations, Healing rituals, and the cutting of divining rods, dowsing rods, and wands. This is a time to look internally at the seeds you've planted that should be at full bloom.
