I'm writing in defense of the Christian religion. The messages you guys get from Christians aren't messages from good Christians. The bible says "Love thy neighbor", they don't do that... They have strayed from the teachings of Christ.
I came across this page and read "A letter to Christians." I found parts of it very offensive, I've talked to Silver Phoenix and we have both walked away from our emailing each other with very different opinions of each other.
You see, in the book of Jude it talks of those who drift from the truth, who get into the church, make themselves appear Christian, then start pushing their own ideas, trying to "edit" God to something more comfortable for them, like when Moses was on the mountain, the people decided to make a God they were more comfortable with. They sculpted a Calf from gold and said "This is the God who bought you out of slavery." The didn't deny God's existence, they just tried to change it a little. Under their new God they committed theft, rape, adultery and worse... when Moses returned with the 10 commandments, he looked upon them and in rage smashed the tablets of the ground, saying "You are not worthy of receiving this." I'm playing the role of Moses right now.
The Christians who harass you, who slash your tires, who throw rocks through your window... are just like the people Moses dealt with. They believe that they have a God given right to do this to you, not because God said so, but because THEY said so. They are fools to think they can change the church to fit themselves, they are fools to commit crimes against you because you are different. We're all different, that's what makes the world go 'round.
About the psychic healers... it's been said that most of them are Christian... First of all, most of them are fakes, those who aren't, they don't get their power from any holy being, quite the opposite.
And our ceremonies... they were called "Erotic and cannibalistic." When Jesus had the last supper before his crucifixion, he held up his glass of wine and said "This is my blood, drink it in remembrance of me." It is symbolism, Jesus' bloodshed, in our faith, is what saved us, he allowed himself to be punished for all the sins of man, this is why sinners, which include every human being on the planet, are able to get to heaven. Therefore, we drink the wine (symbolizing the blood) and eat the bread (symbolizing the body) in honor of him, for going to hell and rising again, suffering for us, paying our karma himself.
We're really not as bad as you think... Some of us do as we are told by God... A good Christian is caring and tolerant. A good Christian doesn't discriminate against others for any reason. I'm very sorry for what you have to go through, it's wrong that people do this to you, but they'll get what's coming to them in the end.
