The
Malay Viscount is a common butterfly found in the nature reserves in Singapore.
It stays close to the confines of forested areas. The butterfly glides
in the typical Tanaecia fashion and can be seen flying even in the rain.
The zigzag-shaped markings on a brown background is similar to many species
within the genus and also its related genus, Euthalia. This similarity
can sometimes lead to confusion in the identification of this species in
the field. |
