Hope you have a good time
The local time in my part of the world is:

July 1999 - Please help us to save some young Tuli Elephants that are being kept in captivity and tortured by the so-called "Mahout" training methods at a farm that sells wildlife

This site is best viewed with a computer & a monitor. Browser version 4 and greater will also be of great benefit. In lower versions the table background displays will be wrong.

My name is Ilze van Wyk. I live in South Africa on the south coast in a city called Port Elizabeth. You can see some details about my home town at The Friendly (and windy) City . Port Elizabeth is very near the start of a beautiful region called "The Garden Route" We are about 80Km from a world famous surfing area - Jeffrey’s Bay. So all you surfers out there: Come and visit! Fishing is quite good but you have to watch the weather reports if you want to try your luck with deep-sea fishing:- gale force winds can blow up from dead calm conditions in less than 30 minutes!

I am very proud to be a Community Leader in the Geocities Rainforest/Vines community. If by any chance you do not yet have your own home page in Geocities, just click on the links at the bottom of this page and join the best site on the WEB. You don't know how much fun you are missing. If you are new to this and don't quite know how to go about it, we have Community Leaders ready, eager and willing to help you move in.

I am very concerned about what we as humans are doing to the environment and killing off our animals. I am not quite a "green freak" (yet) but am always more inclined to take the animals’ side than the human one. Animals are people too you know:) Please visit the WWF link as well as the endangered wild life trust to find some facts specifically about the African situation. Please let me know what you think.

I am the IT (Information Technology) Manageress for a textile manufacturing company. We make a wide range of Industrial and Household textiles, and if you live in South Africa chances are that in some way or another you have used one of our products today - or at least I hope you have! If you are not in South Africa or Belgium, well than you will just have to visit us to get one of our magnificent beach towels *smile*

For those of you interested in my "illustrious" career, here is a resume of what I have been up during the past few years...

One of my favourite holiday resorts is at the Storms River Mouth which is situated at the start of the garden route. This is a typical sunset - as you can see it is quite a wild and beautiful area. Certainly a must for any visitor to our lovely country.

I am very proud to be the recipient of the "Green Ray of Humour & Humility" award from Rainbow Keeper

Received on January 9, 1998
