TORI
AMOS 1999
Over the course of Three Years, Tori Amos has been a
fixture in my life. From her music I've drawn strength during Basic
Combat Training, insight on my own personal life, and understanding of
society and it's ills. It has been my great graces to attend eleven
of her concerts to date...each and every one a humbling and awestruck experience.
In 1999 I roadtripped to seven concerts, met Tori and gave her a red beret
in honor of her dedication to music and RAINN. I made her an honorary
Airborne and to my great joy she actually wore the beret a good spell.
On the trip I made a lot of friends, ears with feet, learned of the power
behind Books on Tape (thank you Cracker Barrel!) and saw a lot of the countryside
(along the interstates anyways). I also came to the awesome discovery
that Jellystone National Park actually *exists*! (Although I didn't
stop so I can't say about Yogi or Boo Boo) In Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit,
Columbus, and New Orleans now I have friends I can rely on for a place
to stay...Such is the power of Love and Tori that it brought us all together...
