Access Oracle database through ODBC drivers on PC

First, you need to setup/install Oracle client softwares on the PC.

Configure an ODBC connection to access an Oracle database

Open Start Menu > Settings > Control Panel > ODBC Data Sources (32bit) > system DSN

To add an Oracle8 database connection, click Add > Oracle80 > OK

OR

To add an Oracle7 database connection, click Add > Oracle73 > OK

Enter the database connect string in both the Data Source Name and the Service Name fields

Click OK to exit

3. Test the ODBC connection to an Oracle database

Run ODBC Test in the Start Menu > Programs > Oracle > Oracle for Windows NT folder
