| To read about Matthias parents, go to this page Matthias and Elizabeth McHenry were each from pioneer families and were also themselves pioneers into the so-called "Illinois Territories". After their arrival in Rock Creek Precinct, June 10, 1819, they remained there until their deaths. They are both buried in Richland Baptist Church Cemetery, due west of Salisbury Illinois. My family and I transcribed it several years ago. It is an incomplete record as the church does not have lists of the burials. Richland Baptist Cemetery. Matthias and Elizabeth married in Illinois. Their marriage is recorded in the pre 1915 Index. They were married 1 January 1825 in Sangamon county. Matthias and Elizabeth had 7 children. Hiram married Catherine Elmore, and died on 1856, leaving one child, William. Hiram is buried in Richland Baptist Church Cemetery. Mary married Eli Yoakum, and lived in Crawford county, Kansas. Jesse born 10 Nov.1831, in Sangamon county, married 10 Jan.1856, to Margaret Thompson, and has five children, George C., Franklin T., William R., Mary C. and Edmund, and lived east of the Sangamon river, near Salisbury, Illinois. Catherine married Zebulon S. Cogdal, has four children, and lived near Salisbury, Illinois. Elihu Bone married Mary A. Cogdal, has one child, and lived in Menard county, Illinois. Thomas C., born 14 Aug.1840, married 17 May 1865, to Barilla Hoag. They had one child, Maud. Mr. Yoakum was a postmaster at Salisbury, Sangamon county, Illinois. He was also a merchant.
