WHY A PTA AND NOT A PTO?
	Being a member of the National PTA gives us access to one of the largest, if not the largest, lobbying groups in the United States.  Without the National PTA we would not have funding for full day Kindergarten in DoDEA.  Nor would we have some of the scholarship opportunities that many of our kids need in order to attend the colleges of their choices.  With membership our parents teachers and students have access to all of the information on the National PTA website, from how to make school better for disadvantaged children to how to get Dads involved.  The National PTA is an organization that is dedicated to realizing the best potential of our schools and our children.  As charter members of the National PTA our PTSA and the European PTA has a voice in the budgeting and programs our schools offer. The National PTA is our voice in Congress and the Senate, for our kids, and for our schools.  For that we send a very small amount of money to them in membership dues.  In fact, most of the dues for membership stay in the European PTA for scholarships, and in the school for programs that the kids have come to depend on.  Most importantly, the National PTA and by extension the Ramstein MS PTSA is a voice for children who may not have anyone else to speak for them.
