Sierra is a fourteen-year-old Paint gelding and is about 14.2 hands (I haven't measured him recently but he is a small boy). He can be ridden in both Western and English saddles but he prefers English since the saddle is lighter. No jumping! Sierra neither likes it nor can his conformation handle the strain.
He makes a good trail horse but needs the company of other horses. An Intermediate rider is best for Sierra. Potential leasers must be experienced with horses. There should be other horses on the property.
He was nerved three years ago when he developed navicular in his front legs. He also has arthritis in his back legs but he has been doing much better. He will need consistent exercise for his joints to fuse.
I am only willing to lease him to someone who lives in Southern California. I want to be able to visit him from time to time to make sure that he is doing okay.
