I wanted to be able to get my keyboard to sit low enough so that my wrists weren't bent when sitting on a regular stool with feet flat on floor/pedals. Pretty well all the workstations I looked at had the board at standard desktop height which for me was too high. I also wanted to not have to look up at the displays (crick in the neck stuff). In the end I got hold of a Quiklok Z555 and drilled a few more holes in the uprights to allow the keyboard to sit at 23.5" above the floor. By drilling a couple more holes to lower the horizontal bar I was able to use their Z-97Ls to mount my Logic/Mackie Control with the transport/jog in easy reach. I need to do a better job on the mouse pad which is just stuck under the RD on bottom right but it works. The displays mount on their little metal shelves which also sit on the horizontal bar. I hope to mount another Mackie/Logic XT or two to the left of the LC (where the qwerty is at the moment) All in all I'm pleased with the quality and price of the Quiklok stuff. BTW, I also tried the "keyboard shelf" that slides underneath - waste of time - with the RD down that low, it doesn't work very well. WIth a wireless k/b it can pretty well go anywhere as I use the LC and mouse most of the time. |
