EPISODE #17: Power Play Originally Aired: 6/01/02
Summary: We see a flashback that Princess shayla is having about the time Merrick sent her and the Animarium into the sky 3000 years ago. Merrick finds his way to a place called Willie's Roadside Cafe. While is playing pool using his crystals, some thugs walk in and begin causing trouble. After Merrick quickly dispatches them (unmorphed) Willie offers him a place to stay at his cafe. In the Nexus, Master Org is angry and wondering where Toxica is. Jindrax is there and tells Master org that he does not need Toxica, as he, Jindrax, could be a general org. Master Org pays him no attention and leaves while Jindrax back is turned. Jindrax isn't upset, as he says this is his big chance. Jindrax goes to Turtle Cove and causes some problems with putrids. The rangers arrive and take care of the putrids and laugh at the fact that it is only Jindrax. After some talking, green energy blasts the rangers and the general org Necronomica enters the picture. Merrick is called from the cafe by a wind, while he tries on more modern clothes. Merrick arrives to the rangers battle and blasts at Necronomica with his cue. He tells the rangers he is only there to stop the org. Necronomica makes short work of him and leaves. Merrick leaves too but not before Alyssa tries to get him to join them. On the Animarium, the rangers talk about Necrnomica, Cole tells the Princess that the wolf zord wants her to go with him, and Taylor tells the other rangers that she believes, Princess Shayla and Merrick were in love. The Princess arrives at the cafe where Merrick is working, they talk, but Merrick does express his feelings. As the Princess walks away, the wind calls Merrick. The rangers arrive to find that Jindrax has joined up with Karkoke org. Using his Laser pool attack, Merrick destroys the org. Necronmica appears and attacks the rangers. Merrick runs toward her, while she continues to blast at him, and as he does so, the wolf zord comes and gives him the Lunar Wolf Savage Cycle. He uses it to knock her into a few boxes. Jindrax goes over the boxes to see Toxica, who used Nayzor's crown to become Necronomica. She tells him she did it for them, so they would not have to be afraid of Master Org. She then make karaoke org grow. Using their zords, the rangers quickly defeat the org. After the battle, Merrick tells the other unmorphed rangers that they don't always have to be together to be a team. Taylor gives him a Howling Wolf jacket from the princess and he leaves.
