Let Me Paint You a Picture

Let me paint you a picture
Of my best friend
She's tall and fair
With long black hair
And a smile to wake the dead
She wears blue jeans
With ripped out seams
Got legs that never end

But that's not who she is
She smiles and frowns
Got her ups and downs
She stood by me
Helped my dreams to be
Soothed my heart
When it fell apart
She's not one you should miss...

Let me paint you a picture
Of my only love
Her temper's hot
Then- quick as thought
She's as gentle as a dove
Her big blue eyes
How they tantalize
I swear-she's sent from above

But that's not all she is
Alone I ain't whole
She's got half my soul
She knows my needs
With her touch she frees
Me from my weary days
Don't need a million ways
Just her tender, lovin' kiss...

Let me paint you a picture
Of the woman who's my wife
She loves me true
Does all she can do
To bring peace into my strife
And late at night
Her touch is feather-light
Makes me enjoy my life

But that's not all she is
When she cries, I cry
And pictures don't lie
She's the one who cares
For me, and I'm aware
That she's my best friend
And true love to the end
Paint my picture with a kiss....

Let me paint you a picture
Of my best friend.....
