Gamera vs. Barugon
Story
A group of explores go to a cave deep in a Japanese jungle. They find what they think is a diamond but really is an egg. They bring it home and celebrate. However, the egg hatches and turns into Barugon, an ice breathing, rainbow ray shooting, titan of terror. It goes on a rampage until Gamera comes. But Gamera gets frozen in Barugons ice. Barugon goes on the rampage again destroying everything. The Japanese try everything, from weapons to scientific experiments. But nothing seemed to take effect. But then they find out Barugon can't swim and drive him to a lake. Barugon is no fool, he turns the other way. Gamera finally broke free of the ice and fights Barugon again but again Barugon almost kills Gamera. Then Gamera finds out Barugon doesn't like water too. As Gamera pushes Barugon in the water, you can hear Barugon's cries for help, but nothing comes. Barugon is destroyed.
My opinion
Gamera vs. Barugon is probably the best Showa Gamera movie. With effects matching the Godzilla movies and good acting, it passes off as a good movie. It's not flawless though. When the Japanese explain how Barugon can't swim, you can see Barugon swimming to shore. This movie is the best showa Gamera movie and looks spectacular compared to the others. I recommend getting this video.
