| I've had a theory for a while that the Futurians attempts at erasing Godzilla from their timeline failed, they actually created the Heisei timeline. I watched GvsKG today and listened very carefully to what Emmi had to say about her future and thought it would be a very interesting idea to try and come up with an idea of what the history of the world was til 2204, when Wilson, Greg, and Emmi stole the time machine and traveled back in time to alter history. First, we know that Godzilla did exist in the Futurians history, that Japan was not destroyed by Godzilla, that the Equal Enviroment Earth Union was created and banned nuclear weapons in the late 22nd century, and that Godzilla actually protected Japan, all through Emmi's conversation with the reporter. So, here is a highly imagintive, and spectulative timeline of the Futurians as I imagined from what little info was provided. Futurian Timeline 1942: Japan attacks Pearl Harbor, U.S. enters into WWII. 1944: U.S. forces attempt to seize control of Lagos Island. Officially, the U.S. forces encounter heavy resistance from Japanese forces, suffer losses, pull back and use heavy artillary to neutralize the Japanese on the island. In reality a then unknown species of dinosaur drove American forces from the island, which then used heavy artillary to attack the creature. Both U.S. and Japanese forces depart island, leaving the sevearally damaged dinosaur. Indigence animals of the island kill and scavenge the mortally wounded creature. 1945: Atomic bombings of Japan signal the end of WWII and rebuilding of Japan by American forces. 1954: Testing of H-Bomb on Lagos Island. First Godzilla attacks Japan (origin unknown). Defeated by Oxygen Destroyer, Japanese government keeps details of Godzilla's death a secert fearing recreation of Oxygen Destroyer. World only knows Godzilla was stopped. 1990: Japan's economy begins to boom, it's quest to become an economic superpower starts. 1993: A reporter writes the proposed origin of Godzilla based an Japanese soldiers accounts of a dinosaur on Lagos Island, event of an H-Bomb testing on the same island, and Godzilla's apperence the same year of the testing. The reporter concludes that the Godzillasaur became Godzilla. The book does no sell well (I speculate this by the reporter in GvsKG talking about how he knows how his book sold and immeaditly wants to change the name of the book. Why would you want to change the name of a book that sold well?). 1993: Two large, mutated eggs are found on Adona Island, kept in hibernative status for millions of years due to an unknown plant lifeform with psychic ablities. The eggs have mutated because of heavy dumping of nuclear waste on the island (All of this is mentioned in GvsMG). The Japanese government immeaditly seizes control of the eggs, keeping their discovery a secert. In an attempt to move the eggs, a crane topples onto one of the eggs, destroying it and killing the creature inside. Studying the remains, government scientist learns that it was the egg of pteradon, though the egg and the creature inside had mutated far larger then any know species. The other egg is moved to a secert location on an uninhabited isle in the Indonesia Islands. Futher study of the egg proves that it belongs to that of the species recorded on Lagos Island, now dubbed the Godzillasaurs. The egg breaks open and the mutated Godzilla hatchling is kept alive in secert for further government studies. 1995: Experiments conducted by the Japanese government prove that the growing (phenomonally I might add) Godzilla hatchling is susceptible to psychic control. The government then 'recruits' young psychics, both legally and illegally, and trains them in controling the creature in secert. 1998: The United States' economy begins to falter. 2004: Tensions between North Korea and Japan grow more tedious. North Korea has entered the arms race with thier own nuclear weapons. 2006: North Korea begins to activily threaten Japan with war. U.N. and U.S. pressure for N. Korea to stop fails. Japan declares a new kind of war. Economic warfare, much like the Cold War, except to a greater degree, Japan begins to destroy N. Korea's economic infrasturcture with comporate buyouts, embargos, economic sanctions, and bribing of key government officials. 2007: N. Korea's government, fearing it's power threatened as it's entire economy is undermined, declares war on Japan and attacks. N. Korea forces attack Japan, but are demolished by the appearance of a 50 meter Godzilla. Most of the world believes this to be the reappearence of the creature that appeared over fifty years ago. Japan lets them believe so, but stands in the way of any outside forces coming into their territory to destory Godzilla. 2008: N. Korea's government collapes, Japan ends up actually owning the country. 2021: N.Korea is rebuilt by Japanese corporations, under Japanese rules. Japan then reunites both North and South Korea for the first time in decades. 2029: Japan begins to literally buys countries. Vietnam, Cambodia, Thialand, Loas, and Myanmar. China pleads with United Nations to prevent this new type of imperilism. U.N. conciders and reamains embroiled in debate. 2030: U.S. economic woes begin to boil to a head. Spending is cut. U.S. pulls all military presense from Japan. U.S. policeys lean torwards isolationalism once more. 2033: Japan buys out parts of Russia, Chita and Amur, along the China border. Also buys Malaysia. China declares war on Japan. 2035: After a drawn out land battle in Asia, China attacks Japan. Godzilla once again protects Japan, driving Chinese forces away. Japan then sends Godzilla to attack China. With no way to protect itself for the great beast, China surrenders. Japan signs a treaty, part of China now belong to Japan. 2048: Japan now owns Australia. 2061: The U.N. disbands, economic woes of several key members and the U.S. pulling out, are to blame. Several countries blame Japan for their situations. With little outside interference, Japanese policies begin to change. People of non-Japanese decent are now treated as second and third class citizens with few rights. 2077: The Equal Enviroment Earth Union is formed by several poor countries in Africa. With the U.S. and Japan the reigning superpowers, poorer nations try to get a say about the countries polices regarding them. 2091: First technology of time travel is invented in Japan, but proves a failure. 2096: U.S. ecomomy is at an all time low. Natural disasters, famine, and government misspending and debt threaten to pull the U.S. apart. 2105: The Earth Union has grown into a large consortuim of small, poor nations stretching from Africa, South America, and parts of Europe. The U.S., still concidered a superpower due to it's military might, and Japan, the new economic superpower refuse to join. 2109: Time travel experiments continue to be attempted and perfected. 2111: A terrorist organization set off three nuclear weapons in three different areas of the world. Los Angles City in the United States, in Japan controled Hanoi, and in the Earth Union capitol, Nairobi. Investagations reveal that the United States had sold this nuclear weapons to the terrorists for money to help their floundering economy. Earth Union demands the U.S. disarm and destroy all nuclear weapons. 2119: An alternate form of energy is invented in Earth Union country of Brazil, pretty much nullifing any use of nuclear energy. The Earth Union shares this invention and technology with the world in hopes of ridding it of it's nuclear uses at the chagrin of Japan, who does not profit by this invention. 2125: The Earh Union's attempts to dipolmaticly disarm the U.S. fails. Japan steps in and begins an economic warfare on the U.S. This actually has an adverse effects, a wave of patiotism surges through the U.S., helping the economy. 2129: Japan's economic warefare isn't working as hoped. The U.S. military begins to advance, attacking several of Japan's owned nations. An American attack on Japan is repelled by Godzilla. 2136: As war drags on, U.S. citizens grow tired of the war. Protests begin to ensue, support sways, and eventually the entire infasturctue of the U.S. economy fails. Combined with unstoppable attacks of Godzilla on U.S. coastal cities, the U.S. falls. All nuclear weapons are removed and destroyed. U.S. falls under Japanese ownership and the Japanese rebuild the country. 2185: All nuclear weapons and facilities are banned by the Earth Union. Japan reluctantly agrees to the ban, items of nuclear origin are simply write offs, no longer of any use. 2188: Japan's economy begins to slow, no longer. It's money is now made from debts collected by countries it owes. Misspending and corruption run rampant in the Japan's government, both foriegn and abroad. Non-Japanese citizens within controled Japanese countries begin to become distrubtive. 2190: Time travel successful. Time travel machine is perfected, but not used to the scientific community devising laws to govern the machines use. 2191: The Equal Enviroment Earth Union attempt to get Japan to call off many of the debts owed to it by other, poor countries. Tension builds. 2194: Radical rebel groups begin using violence against Japanese corporations, government, and people. The Earth Union pleads for peaceful resolutions. Japan uses military force against groups, but the acts are random. Godzilla is useless without a specific target to attack. Wilson and Glen Chico (not sure about the spelling of his last name) from the United States lead many of the rebel groups, angry at Japan's treatment of the U.S. Emmi, Japanese born, but living in the U.S., witnesses the inhumanity Japan endorses in it's policy of the way other citizens not of Japanese decent are treated, becomes swept up in Wilson's crusade. 2204: Wilson, Glen, and Emmi steal the time machine. Emmi is under the belief that Wilson wants to pervent Japan from becoming a superpower and install a super computer that would allow equallity of all nations to finally be achieved. In order to do this, Godzilla must be erased from the timeline (they mistakenly believe that the Godzilla of their time was the 1954 Godzilla)and King Ghidorah to be created to force all nations to accept this new super computer and the new world order (this would be why Emmi helps in the beginning, but when she learns that Wilson simply wants to destroy Japan and rebuild it, goes against Wilson). They then travel back into time. |
