History:She started out as a gun moll and student under Dr. Faustus, then the opportunity came up for her to meet Lloyd Bloch(or Byron Becton according to marvel handbook), the original Moonstone. Due to her expertise as a psychologist the prison board asked her to come. She drugged him with some gas that made him hallucinate and she got him to reject the moonstone, which she gladly took. This stone is from the blue area of the moon and believed to be invested with some of the Watchers power. When she took the rock from him she absorbed it's power into herself. After mastering her new powers she offered her psychiatric experience to Dr. Leonard Samson as well as starting to work for the Corporation. Her first ballte was against the Hulk, outlined in Hulk 228-230. She had been taught by Lenoard Samson while she was studying to be a shrink, she used that connection to get a job at Gamma Base(with the plan to steal some important technology) and that lead to her battle with Hulk. She managed to help Gereral "thunderbolt" Ross have a nervous breakdown.Senator Eugene K. Stivik, a member of the Corporation offered her a postion in the eastern branch. She accepted, this lead to a war between east and west coast branches, a struggle that also involved the Hulk, Captain America, Falcon and Quasar. She then dropped off the map for a while. She had a major reemergence with the Avengers Under Seige storyline where she was pitted in battle mainly against Captain Marvel, resulting in her getting her neck broken. She has had some memorable encounters with Lloyd Bloch since in Avengers Unplugged, Captain America 279 and a short encounter in an Iron Man annual 1999.

Things went up a notch with Hulk 449 and then the Thunderbolts and it hasn't stopped yet!

Karla is one of the most layered characters in the Marvel Universe and the potential for her to bloom is just starting. The Kree connection was touched on, but there is history with Samson, Captain America, Captain Marvel(Photon), tues with her family...how did a doctor go to being a butler? Ties with Dr Faustus, who is presently dead, but who knows! So much to learn from a great character!

On a couple of occasions she has manifested the ability to make OTHERS around her phase along with herself.
Source of power: An extraterrestrial rock(found on the moon) which is charged with unknown energy and is bonded to her nervous system.
