WHAT DO WE DO? A Summary By DJ Hagler RASH-NYC, established in 1993, is the founding crew of the international RASH network. We are a membership-based group, and hold sporadic business meetings as needed. All members are also expected to pay weekly dues which funds group activities. We hold many events open to the public, including DJ nights and concerts that advance the working-class, anti-racist skinhead culture that we love. We also hold occasional events of a political nature to spread our beliefs, building the cause of militant anti-fascism, working class unity and social justice. Some of these events include forums and film showings. |

We attend other groups’ events (DJ nights, shows, forums, film showings, demonstrations, radical book fairs) as a crew to show our support.
We produce and distribute RASH and anti-fascist skinhead merchandise such as CDs, shirts, pins, patches, soccer scarves and more in order to fly our colors and let the world know who we are and where we stand. We maintain an archive on the culture and politics we believe in. This archive includes material dating back to the mid-1960’s, and features hundreds of books, pamphlets, videos, fliers, pins, patches, t-shirts and other media from our movement (both cultural and political). Our archive is open to all dues-paying members of RASH-NYC. We run a cultural and political education program amongst our membership, including a book lending library and the circulation of relevant videos. We also publish suggested reading and viewing lists for members new to the group. We publish reading material which advances our cause. This has included “RASH United: The First 2 ½ Years” and “Anti-Racist Skinheads in the Print Media 1988-2003”. We also release an occasional zine, HERE TO STAY HERE TO FIGHT, when the need arises. As individuals we participate in political organizations on the Left, and in anti-racist organizations. Members are free to join the political group of their choice. Finally, we teach low-cost self-defense classes (open to all RASH-NYC members and supporters), instructing participants in physical fitness, weight training, boxing, kickboxing, grappling and submission fighting. “If you think you’ve got the sus, be a skinhead, be like us!” -The Oppressed |
