The Nisei Squadron was a U.S. Rangers unit consisting of Japanese-American soldiers. They were under the command of Lt. "Happy Sam Sawyer," who also commanded Captain Savage and the Howling Commandos. The Nisei Squadron's leader was Sgt. Jim Morita, who was introduced as a member of the Howling Commandos before being given his own command.

The Nisei Squadron teamed up with Captain Savage's Leatherneck Raiders, but only Morita was active with the Howling Commandos.
