Are You My Dad?

I am not flesh of your flesh nor, bone of your bone.
Are you my Dad?
You were there when I was a baby and needed rocking and holding.
Are you my Dad?
You were there when I was a child. I had the questions, you had the answers.
Are you my Dad?
You were there when I was a teenager and the drugs, sex and alcohol were offered. You taught me how to say no!
Are you my Dad?
You were there when I was a young adult and things went wrong in my life. You taught me to go on in spite of the setbacks.
Are you my Dad?
You are still there for me whenever I am in need of arms to hold me, ears to listen to my cares and worries, or a shoulder to cry on. Yours is a heart I can always count on no matter how bad nor how often I mess up.
Are you my Dad?
Yes. You are my Dad!
From the day we met to the day we die you will always be My Dad!
And
I Love You.
