the despair in her eyes
the heartache in her soul
as she glared at me and cried
she hissed she couldn’t stand me
she hoped I’d bleed alone
hoped I’d stand silently
as she threw the stones
she whispered as her tears dropped
one final look my way
then she stepped back from the mirror
and I faded away
