Hello, how are you? I’m great. It was mostly sunny during the week. Many things have happened over the month of June.
On June 11, I went to the Phillipse Manor Hall. It was fun. I learned about the Nepperhan River and about the Phillipses. At one point, the Nepperhan River is covered by the road. Frederick Phillipse III was a Loyalist. A Loyalist was someone loyal the King George of Britain.
Mom had jury duty the week after. She didn’t stay because she said, "It seems like all the teachers were dismissed." She was able to go with me on my next field trip.
On June 20, we went to the Museum Village. There were many exhibits about the life during the colonial era. In the weave shop, it took 18 months to make a set of clothes. A blacksmith heated metals up to 3000 degrees. Then they shaped the hot part. In the print shop, it took 6 hours to put the letters o the metal correctly then they rolled ink on it. After that they pressed the newspaper. In the Merrit store, I bought a plastic black bear.
The next day I had my last baseball game. We won because the other team forfeited. We still played a scrimmage game, and we won that one, too. After the game we received our trophies.
On June 23rd, we had an end-of-the-year breakfast in class. There were fruits, doughnuts, and muffins. Also, fruit punch, orange juice, milk and coffee for the adults. Mom was able to attend the breakfast, and she brought a fruit platter. It was my last full school day. The next two days were half days.
On Wednesday , my last day of school, we didn’t do anything. I received my report card, and I’m on the honor roll. It was also the first day of our camping trip. We went to the same place as last year, Beaver Pond campground.
The first thing we did was unpack and set up the tent. Second, we ate adobo. Third, my friends came back from the lake. Next, my mom went to a religion workshop. While she was gone I talked with my friends. My friends are another Filipino family, they are our neighbors, too. Last, when my mom came back, we went to sleep.
The next day I went swimming in Lake Welch, beside our campground. I went swimming everyday at camp. On Friday, we saw fireworks in Bear Mountain State Park. On Saturday, we saw Lilo & Stitch that night at the campground. The day after, we went to the Trailsides Museums and Zoo. I liked the Red Tail Hawk. It is a rare hawk. I learned how to play pusoy dos, too. On the last day of our camping trip I went swimming with my friends then we packed up and left the campground.
We just watched Terminator 3 Rise of the Machines. I hope you have a nice Summer!
