Hello! How are you? I am fine. Kuya and I are in school now. I’m in fifth grade. Kuya is in junior high school. I’m going to tell you what I did during the past few months.
On July 12, 2003, I went to Mystic, Connecticut. We saw the drawbridge open. Also we ate ice cream. Before we left, we bought a pizza.
A week later, my mom and I went to a barbeque at the convent of St. Denis. I made a friend there. I played ball with him. Then we ate a lot before we left. Your first cousin Jeth visited New York. She is from California, and she is 11 years old. We watched a Broadway show. The show is called “The Phantom of the Opera.” The opera was about a phantom haunting an opera house. The show was great!
In August, we saw Mars on my mom’s birthday. Two days later we went to the dentist. A blackout happened while we were there. At first, I thought it was a small power surge. When we got home, our TV and lights didn’t work. We used a radio to find out about the blackout. The blackout was actually all over the northeast coast. We got power back the day after.
I started school in September 8, 2003. I’m going to PEARLS for the last year because pearls only go up to fifth grade. Joshua is in Pleasantville Middle School. We also started CCD (religious studies). I’m in fifth grade CCD, and Kuya is in third grade CCD. Mom is teaching third grade because they had no other volunteers.
We still go swimming every week. Joshua still swims on Saturdays with the project friendship program. I go swimming on Wednesdays. I’m in level two now. I also still play the trumpet.
Two weeks later we celebrated Kuya’s and my birthdays. We ate dinuguan, chicken and spaghetti. We also had a cake. We invited my friends and cousins.
In October, we went trick-or-treating. Kuya was a wizard, and I was an executioner. I went trick-or-treating with my friends in our neighborhood. Afterwards, Kuya and I went to my friend Miguel house, and went trick-or-treating in his neighbourhood. We got lots of candy and even a fish.
On the first Saturday of November I went to Hands-on-science. I went to three workshops, robotics, amazing air, and optical illusions. This weekend, we saw a red full moon because it was a total lunar eclipse.
I will write again after Christmas. Happy Thanksgiving!
