Today I went to Hands on Science. Hands on Science is a program where you can do experiments and projects. There are different courses. I took Aviation and Gliders. Aviation and Gliders is one to of the three courses that take twice as much time as a regular course. The other two courses are Rocketry and Hot Air Ballooning. I chose Rocketry twice before. Aviation is altitude which means measure of height. Gliders are like paper planes, but they stay in the air longer, depending on the angle of the wings and horizontal stabilizer. The horizontal stabilizer is the part of the tail wing that keeps the glider in balance. Another thing that keeps the glider in balance is the vertical stabilizer which is near the horizontal stabilizer. The vertical stabilzer looks like half a wing on the back of the glider, stuck on top of the glider. When you’re inside the glider you don’t see the vertical stabilizer. My glider looks like this:
My next course was the Solar System and Planets. I had fun in this course because the teacher gave me mazes I could play with. The teacher told me that Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, and Uranus were made of gas. That means you could pick up Saturn and throw it, but its gravity will suck you in. The bigger the planet is the more gravity it has.
After that, I went to the convent of St. Denis for a retreat. I was late because of Hands on Science. I arrived at 2 o’clock. It started at 1 o’clock and will end at 5 o’clock. When I arrived the people were singing at the second children’s chapel. Next, I went to a small room to eat snacks. Then, I went the adult’s chapel. We sang songs there and ate more snacks. Afterwards, we went to the first children’s chapel, and sang songs and went back to the adult’s chapel to take a huge picture. Finally, my mom picked me up and took me home.
Joshua went swimming today. Mom found out about the swimming program for the disabled from the Yonkers Recreation Guide. Joshua is an intermediate swimmer. Joshua’s grown bigger like me.
Last month, on my birthday and my brother’s birthday, we had a party at the mall, school and home. The name of the mall is Palisades mall. At the mall, only my brother, Dad, Mom, and I went there. I ate two types of chicken: Bourbon and Sesame. I liked them both. We also watched the movie Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever. My birthday at school was fun, and so was Joshua’s. At home, we invited Erika, her mom, Tita Ting and Lolo. We all ate dinuguan, and Tita Ting cooked pansit. We had a Chocolate birthday cake. Having a birthday is fun.
