He lives up in the trees.
To scratch himself is his only wish
And rid himself of fleas.
The Buffalo is queerer still.
When she flies through the air,
She must take care or cobwebs will
Get tangled in her hair.
Observe, my friends, the Centipede,
The largest mammal known.
They eat tomatoes when they feed
Until they're fully grown.
But none of these is quite as strange
As that peculiar beast,
The Cucumber, who roams the range
And feeds on hard-boiled yeast.
