Why I Love You
Silly Stories
Raymond's Stories
This delightful little poem was published in the Ashwood High School Annual Magazine, when I was fifteen years old.
I love you because
You are so fair.
I love you because
Your cranium is bare.
I love you because
You haven't any hair.

I love your bloodshot eyes so sweet.
I love the corns upon your feet.
Some guys like girls with lips like rose,
But I love the pimples on your nose.

I love all your teeth,
Some yellow, some green.
I love your large ears
And the blank space between.

For all of these reasons I love you my honey,
But above all of these, my dear, (Isn't it funny?)
Most of all I love you -
Because you've got money!

Some people say that you don't look too healthy,
But I am not worried, so long as you're wealthy.
Oh darling, please tell me that you'll be my wife.
Then I will be rich for the rest of my life.
