Module 6: Computer Ethics
SAQ 6-1
C. Cite two ethical issues in computing. Explain how they are ethical in nature
A. Case of Daan
1. Which of the ten commandments on computer use did Daan violate? 1, 2 and 7

2. If you were Daan, will you tell Kael the truth or not? Explain.
No, because what I did is really worst. I will be expecting painful feedback. It ruins trust, friendship and reputation instead I will support him buying new motherboard and charge the event to experience.

3. If you were Kael and Daan told you the truth, what will you do? Of course, I suggest replacing the unit and will not ever trust him again.
Respect the intellectual property.
- The issue in nature agrees Aristotle's principle which follows the norm dealing with evaluating the 'mean' with respect to the righteousness, fairness, goodness and justice to person who own the property.

Computer use as welfare of mankind.
- By nature, it agrees all final theories. With Stuart Mill's Utilitarianism, utilitarianism moralities recognized as a greatest happiness in which the above action is the right in proportion as it tends to promote happiness and the reverse of it produce painful.
B. Pick three of the precepts on computer use discussed above and briefly explains each precept in terms of the theory of ethics explained from module 1 - 4.
D. As a computer user, do you approved ordering principle, in form of legislation, being formulated and enforced to govern computer use? Why?
I choose only one theory per precepts because I could have many discussions.

(1) Thou shalt think about the social consequence
- Aristotle Nicomachean Theory. By virtue, the reason to live a life is not harming other people considered 'mean' lead oneself happy as a supreme end.

(2) Thou shalt not use a computer to bear false witness.
- Moral Law. Computer Technology to bear false witness leads to dishonest sharing of information which as a sort of misbehaving and misconduct.

(3) Thou shalt not use a computer to harm other people.
- John Stuart Mill's Utilitarianism. Happiness considers as man's final end, freedom from pain. Happiness and pain come from other.
Yes, As I've said from previous SAQ, the world is made up of different attitude and standard of morality plus the freedom. With Immanuel Kant's principle, this ordering principle in a form of legislation formulated into guiding laws, the computer users have the duty to respect them.  The result is uniform and well-balanced society that universally considered what is either morally bad or a common good.
