Tenchi! (No Need To Read This) No need for Tenchi (chapter 1) I’ve looked at my life as plain, average, somewhat dull. It was days of my life that went unquestioned. Days of being a student, days of being an apprentice to my family’s shrine, it was my station in life. I can remember peace and serenity was rampant in my home, but now nothing more than rampant explosions and cat fight battles. Now its just crazy women fighting over me, just wishing to be normal. Before it was just me, my dad and grandfather before, residing in Okayama. And after all the troubles I think of Achika, (my mother) she was graceful and elegant, she was an angel. Out of all of my childhood she would say to me, “My dear Tenchi, we are strange and beautiful stars. We are the beauty of the heavens; just you and me, my Tenchi.” What my mother said to me was strange and confusing and if I ever gave it a thought I might have known, but some things I rather not give a thought to figure out. Dad told me that my mother was a poet, that she actually won awards in high school and in small local contest. Dad always day dreamed about Mom, he used to write all his memories and things they could have done, things they were planning and hoping for in a black leather journal. My mother, around the time of her death spent every waking moment with the family, I loved it but, I could tell that she was hiding the fact that she was sick and dying. When I was six, Achika, my mother died mysteriously, and not to long after that so did my grandmother. It snowed on the day that they died. It soothes me to see the snowflakes, when the chilly air breezes by I can hear their voices out my name, because both the air and snowflakes remind me of the treasured memories of mom and grandma. Before the excitement of the change, my family had a routine eat, work and Sleep. I too had a routine but slightly different. For the past month, (before the change) my routine was: Wakeup, shower, dress, eat, wash my dishes, grab my bag, and catch the bus, endure school, come home, help maintain the shrine, help cook dinner, clean up the mess, shower, go to sleep, then rinse and repeat. All this became my station in life, just winging it to get past life, (sigh) just being me… Tenchi Misaki. And then, my life, changed. |
