Perfect Dark Beta:
Area 51

The changes to this mission are astounding!  This isn't three levels, it's one really huge level, that has most of it locked off for the different missions!  I was informed of a trick today, that if you go to some locked doors, attract some guards, and then cloak, the guards will open the door.  You then can go around the whole Area 51 complex!  It's all one huge level!  From the helicopter pad that you start out on, to the halls and autopsy labs inside.  And the whole thing was once a multi player level!  Here's some cool pictures for you.

Ok.  This picture says a whole lot.  First off.  There is an alien guard.  A Maian.  But the Maians are your friends!  Why is this one toting a gun?  This mission was very different in the beta version.  And second of all.  Think about that guard being there.  If he is there, then that means that you came from the area with the hoverbikes.  Right? If you started out where you normally do, by the helicopter pad, you would have gotten this guy from behind, right?  So you could have come out from the building, and maybe, the helipad is your escape route!  Who knows!  This pathway hasn't changed very much, the second picture I took from the final version.
This picture says a lot too.  First, it says that the Maians are against you!  They are on your side in the final version!  Second.  Joanna is coming out of that building.  So during on of the missions, you went from inside, to outside.  The level is huge.  Maybe, Area 51 was only one or two missions, and since it was such a big level, they decided to split it up a little.  This picture fits in well with the above picture.  You would come out here, make your way around, and meet that next alien in the tunnel!  Joanna has the same amount of ammo in both pictures also.

Now look at this picture!  This one fits in well with the two before!  This would be the first one!  So you would come out of the building, after completing some objectives, but NOT with Elvis.  Strange, why would you be escaping, but not saving Elvis as well?  Anyway.  You see these aliens.  You fire a few shots.  Go to the next picture.  A few shots are gone from the clip, and you are right outside the building!  Then you go around, and through the tunnel!  It fits together perfectly!  But I want to know why the aliens are shooting at you, and why do they have normal guns?  The bullets in this picture are orange!  Alien weapons, the Phoenix, Callisto NTG, Mauler, and Reaper, all have green shots!  Have the aliens taken over the entire facility, and you are there to take it back?  We will never know!
Now this picture shows a lot of things that are beta.  First, the bathroom is slightly different.  There is no divider in the beta bathroom, that's why the wall look s farther back.  Because you didn't hit the divider in the beta.  But that's not all.  Oh no.  First, the Magsec4.  Now, you can get a Magsec4 4 outside of the Area 51, but you would have to come in in the same mission and get Elvis, which would make it a very long mission, which means that they probably would have split it up.  Ya know, I come up with these theories as I type these things. :P Second of all.  How did Joanna get Elvis in the bathroom?  First of all, the door is way too small to fit the hover gurney into there.  Second, that part of the level is locked up!  you can't even get near the bathroom!  Now, lastly, why is Elvis in the bathroom in the first place?  Does he have to take a piss?  What could an alien possibly need in a bathroom.  Unless something was hidden in there.
Nobody can deny that it is fun riding around that hoverbike.  But, when you play a cooperative mission, there's trouble.  Only one hoverbike!  That want a problem in the beta version, though.  There were two hoverbikes!  Yay! But why would they have taken out another hoverbike?  That would have been so fun, you could have had hoverbike races and stuff, it would have been awesome!  But maybe it messed up the frame rate, who knows.  Also, the hoverbikes are in a different place!  They are where that guy worth the key card is, and where that robot interceptor is.  But that's not all, of course.  The wall in the beta version is shaped a little differently.  Now, there is an extra wall outside, that serves no purpose.  I wonder what was planned for that?

We all know that you can get the "classic" Goldeneye 007 guns, with new names in Perfect Dark.  But, in the beta version, you could get these as regular guns int he missions!  Look at this picture!  There is only one gun that has a spark like that.  The AR33!  It's called the AR53 in Perfect Dark, and the M-16 in real life.  Maybe the Goldeneye guns were used before the Perfect Dark guns were completly done.  But we never see Joanna using the Goldeneye guns in the missions.  Or do we?Right there you see miss Joanna Dark with a ZMG 9mm, or a ZZT or an UZI, depending on which name you call it!  It even has the huge spark that the ZMG in Goldeneye 007 has!  And this is later on in the game's development, that single guard is in the background!  I think he has a ZMG also.  Look at the left of him.  There is a very faint line going down from his hand.  You have to look carefully to see it.  That is the clip of the ZMG!  It has a long clip that hangs down like that. Here is Joanna with elvis, in another room that you can't get into with elvis, with a beta door in the back, but look carefully at what weaponm was just picked up.  A ZMG (9mm)!  Here's what I think.  Yes, another theory that I thought up while typing.  The first guns to be completed were the Falcon 2 and the Magsec 4.  Think about it.  Those are the only two guns that appear in almost EVERY beta picture.  then, they just used the Goldeneye 007 weapons!  You see guards with them, and Joanna just picked up a ZMG!Now, here's the last picture of a guard with a Goldeneye weapon.  First, that guard isn't even in this area, only the scientists are.  Second, he dropped a ZMG!  Look at it!  It has the distinctive ZMG (9mm) shape.  Why would a guard be in there?  And second.  There's no gas!  In the final version there is a thick layer of nerve gas in this room!  Was it just not programed in yet?  Or was this mission changed drastically? 1

Look at this picture from pdark.com.  No signifigant changes to the level, in fact, the shadows are even the same, but this is still pretty early in the game's development.  It still has that old life guage on the top right corner.  The only thing of interest is that there are no robot interceptors in those big holes in the wall.  Not even a hoverbike!  You're probably thinking that they could have just blown the things up, but they don't completly dissapear when they are blown up, they are still sort of in there.

Here is the only beta CMP150 picture that has it in the upright position.  But that doesn't matter here, it's the fact that Joanna has a CMP150 in Area: 51.  There isn't a single CMP150 in any of the three Area: 51 missions now.  Maybe it's just a cheat, but you never know.  This is a pretty old picture, it still has that beta life bar in the top right corner.
