What game do you want info on?
Goldeneye Perfect Dark

This section will also double as a Perfect Dark multi player strategy section, because the strategy for both games is essentially the same.

Multi player.  This is the feature that turned Goldeneye from a great game into a legend.  And not enough sites have info on multi.  I've decided to put up this page in place of a single player walk thru page, since most people play multi more than single player.

Strategies for both games, mainly Goldeneye

Know the level- This is pretty basic but I don't know how many times i've fought against a person who just didn't know the level and kicked their ass!  Go into a multi game by yourself and just run around, and try to get to certain rooms from anywhere in the level.  Once you have mastered a level, you can simply glance at your opponent's screen and go right to them.

Starting Points-  This may sound insanely hard, but memorize the starting points!  Start on the small levels, like facility (felicity), and work your way up!  It only takes a few minutes.  Some day I might get around to making a list for ya...

Circling-  Strafe and run at the same time and make a spiral around your enemy, at a close, but not too close distance.  Change your direction a lot, crouch, (although you cant go as fast when crouching) anything for you to get a few vital hits in.  This works exceptionally well on most types of simulants!  Don't try it on a Perfect Simulant, though.

Sniping-  This is the most effective when there are 3 or 4 players.  It will only piss of your friend (or enemy) when you do it with two people.  Ironically, the best gun for sniping is not the sniper rifle.  When you are sniping, you want to use your advantage of surprise to fire as much as possible.  In the single player game, the sniper rifle is good, but hey! This in multi!  I use an AR-33 or a RC-p90.  KF7 is ok if there is nothing else.  If you are going to snipe with only 2 players, turn the aim on and move the control stick to make your opponent believe you are moving.

Choosing the best gun-  You don't want to have to pull the trigger a lot, like with a pistol.  This will mess up your aim.  Accuracy is important too.  A gun like the Klobb is useless against something like a DD44.  Most people would go with the Klobb, because it has the bigger clip and is automatic.  But the DD44 can fire faster, and it is a hell of a lot more accurate.  Avoid Rocker Launchers, because they are really easy to dodge.  Only use one if your opponent is at long range against a wall or something.  Avoid Grenade launchers at short distance too.  But if your opponent is around a corner, Grenade launchers work great.  They aren't so great for long range though, because it takes practice.

Mean Strategies-  Know the starting points!!  I was playing my friend in the Temple, walk thru doors and turbo mode on.  (from the master cheat menu in the GS code section)  When my friend dies, I would go as fast as I could to the next starting point and fire a grenade round at it.  As soon as they regenerated, they died!  But be careful, if you get too close, they will be warped to the next point.

Mean Sniping-  This is really mean!  When you have walk thru doors on, in the temple you can stand in the big thick door and be completely concealed.  If you have a gun that can shoot thru stuff, like the magnum, AR-33, and p90, you can shoot people from inside the door!  It works best with the AR-33, which has the scope.  If you stand in the door that leads into the best gun room that is near the armor, you will get many kills and leave your opponent clue less.

Choosing the best character-  You want to blend in!!  Like use the russian commandant for the temple, trevelyan for the caves, ect.  This might not sound major, but with a divider (see next paragraph) and no radar, people can walk right past you and not know it.

Using a divider-

Why it kicks ass-  Two words: incredibly cool!!  This is so much fun, you can actually do real sniping because your opponent can't see your screen.  Best when used with no radar

How to set it up-  What a divider is is a piece of cardboard taped across the middle of the screen.  One player sits on the floor, one on the couch, or whatever, just so that you can't see the other person's screen.

Running for your life- Sooner or later, you are gonna need to haul ass and get away!  So here are some strategies for the inevitable situation.

If you have grenade launcher-  Grenades bounce off walls.  If you are using the no collisions code, just shoot a grenade round at the door when you run past so you go thru the door but the grenade round bounces off the door and hits the guy behind you.  You can also shoot above the door if you  have collisions on.

Corners-  This seems so simple, but it has saved me so many times.  Just when you go around a corner, go around it and stop!  When your opponent comes around, let em have it!  Then keep running for it.

Perfect Dark only stuff:

Make the sims fight-  Try to lead the simulants to areas with lots of other simulants.  They will kill each other, and then you can go in and kill the remaining weak ones.

Laptop gun-  This is possibly the best gun in Perfect Dark multi player.  50 round clip, powerful zoom lens, reloads quick, and its secondary mode rules.  Hold down B, and you can deploy this gun as a gun turret.  Put the turrets in high traffic areas, like the main hall in Felicity, or by the shields.  This will annoy everyone!  Imagine getting shot right as you pick up a fresh shield.  Replace the turret often, though.  They go thru the 50 bullets they have pretty quickly.  Putting one on the elevator in Ravine is fun, too.

Jumping off stuff-  Another great feature in Perfect Dark.  You will never get hurt jumping off of a wall in multi player.  Not the case in the Solo Missions, so be careful.  But you can still shoot guys when you are falling thru the air, and it is hard to hit somebody that's falling down 50 feet!  So use it to your advantage.
