George Adams, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Adams, 3126 Ohio Ave, has been promoted to petty officer, third class, according to word received here.  Mr. Adams entered the Navy on Oct. 29, 1951 and received his basic training at San Diego, Cal.
He also was graduated from Electricians' Mate Class A School where he received a 63.14 average, second in his class.  He was assigned to the USS Estes, an Amphibious Force Flagship, and took part in the hydrogen bomb test at Eniweiok last fall.  He recently returned from Operation Sea Jump, a special amphibious test operation on the West Coast.
Home from the Naval Training Center at San Diego, Cal. are George Adams, SR, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Adams, 3126 Ohio Ave and Richard Bordeau, SR, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bordeau, 1316 Luke Ave, who will return next Tuesday.
