Indeed, inaccuracies as small as millionths of an inch can ruin telescope's Primary mirror/lens.But what is wonderful is that this high precision can be achieved from very simple and seemingly crude methods. Just a little hard work, patience and persistence is required. This website is intended to share my experience and disseminate some knowledge I have gained in making different types of telescopes, eyepieces, achromat correct image finder scopes, focusers and other parts to popularise the hobby of astronomy in India. It will be my pleasure to guide any person or a group who intends to make telescope or its parts. I am highly indebted to fellow Indian as well as foreign ATMers specially Dave Rowe, Peter John Smith, Steve Fejes who helped me a lot telling finer points about telescope making, eyepiece and achromat barlow designing and operating OSLO-LT optical-design programme. I believe that this website opens your eyes to the possibility of making all of telescope's components yourself and that the information here may empower you to do so. I have made a number of telescopes viz:Newtonian, Dobsonian, Classical and Simak Cassegrain, Schiefspiegler apart from Kellner and Plossl Eyepieces; rack and pinion Focusers, Achromat Finders and Barlows including designing all these. These have cost me very less and are comparable with commercial ones. If you find something of interest, something to add in this site or if, however, you find anything wrong, have some comments, questions or just to say hello, please mail me.
