BIOLOGY I

UNIT THIRTEEN: STUDY SKILLS

Introduction

Study skills are one of the most important factors that enable success in an academic environment. Research has shown that one of the best ways to improve academically, is to learn good study skills. In this unit, memorization strategies will be presented which students can adapt when studying for school. The strategies include mnemonic devices (acronyms), the link method and associative techniques.

All three levels will be introduced to the same study skills and will thus have the same objectives. This unit will be integrated into the first formal unit of Biology I.  These objectives will be revisited throughout the year.
